Registered Wordsmiths™ · Inside the Build

A peek inside the build.

Registered Wordsmiths opens August 14. This is the running log of what's being built behind the doors — the course taking shape, the process holding it to a bar, and the receipts along the way.

We're holding the first 100 spots for founding members. One text the moment the doors open — nothing else.

The log

What actually happened, in order. Names, not secrets — the lessons themselves stay behind the doors.

Jun 29

Broke ground. Scaffolded the knowledge base every lesson gets built from, and wrote the first draft of the Wordsmith Framework.

Jun 30

Locked the positioning: who this is for, why it exists, what makes it different.

Jul 3

Designed the first member experience end to end — what you see, read, and do in your first week inside.

Jul 6

Chose the community's platform. Then found a better one and switched. Cheaper to change your mind before the doors open than after.

Jul 7

Structured the entry course: Wordsmith Fundamentals — every lesson mirroring a chapter of Ways to Say. Loaded the complete Ways to Say collection in as the example bank.

Jul 8

Lesson 1 (Synonyms) hit camera-ready for the first time: script, worksheet, exercise, discussion prompt.

Jul 9

Built the lesson machine: a 13-step build process with quality gates, so every lesson has to clear the same bar before you ever see it.

Jul 14

Tore Lesson 1 down and rebuilt it around a stronger model. There's now a three-word law at the center of it. Members get the law.

Jul 15

The longest day in the log. Lesson 1's outline locked. Lesson 2's outline hit version eleven before it locked. A worksheet called Frame Autopsy went through five versions before it earned its name. And a weekly community ritual got sketched, then parked — it launches when it's right, not when it's rushed.

Jul 20

Set the date: doors open August 14. Planned the whole build backwards from it.

Jul 22

Built and audited the slide decks for the first two lessons. Rule of the audit: every slide earns its spot or gets cut.

Jul 24

The waitlist went live — one text, the moment the doors open.

Jul 25

The Implication lesson made the cut — the art of saying it without saying it was too good to hold back. Locked its architecture the same day.

Jul 26

Wrote the words that greet you when you first walk in. Then built the page you're reading.

Updated as the build continues.
